Classy Whale produces short documentary-style explainers about urban transit systems, with an emphasis on rail-based modes (light rail, streetcars, commuter and intercity rail) and the policy, planning and operational issues that shape them. Videos focus on specific city or agency case studies — histories, unique design choices, failures or controversies, and how particular routes or projects came to be.
